Writing a job description for an AI-ready candidate without generic requirements

“Confident AI user” tells candidates very little. A strong vacancy shows where technology is used, which decisions remain human and how results will be assessed.

Start with the role mission

The opening should explain why the position exists and what successful work changes. This attracts people interested in the problem and filters those focused only on the title. Follow it with three to five concrete outcomes.

Describe the real AI context

Name task types such as information analysis, drafting, prototyping or report automation. Explain which tools the team uses, whether new ones can be proposed and where manual approval is mandatory.

Do not disguise uncertainty

If transformation is just beginning, say so. Then the company can seek someone who explores opportunities and creates rules with the team. Promising a mature AI culture without real practice leads to disappointment.

Make selection transparent

Explain stages, practical-task format, whether AI is allowed and assessment criteria. Avoid unpaid tasks resembling commercial work. Transparency builds trust and improves response quality.

Practical checklist

  • Role mission and outcomes
  • Specific AI scenarios
  • Data and control rules
  • Honest company maturity
  • Transparent assessment stages

Frequently asked questions

Should the vacancy list AI tools?
